What's Different?

So what are the main differences between tradition, Standard Scalextric race tracks and Digital ones?

  • Digital allows up to 6 cars on the track in any lane at any time, even on 2 lane tracks. Standard tracks need one lane per track.
  • Switch lanes using the new digital track sections to overtake and block your competitors.
  • Digital cars and track are fully compatible with standard Scalextric Layouts and sets
  • Very simple to set up. No experience is necessary.
  • Digital handset controllers are fast, responsive and fully interactive.
  • 4 and 6 car powerbases are available.
  • Pit Lane track sections now available for added action.

How to go digital...

New to the hobby?

If you're new to slot car racing, then the best option to get stuck right in to Digital is to opt for one of the Scalextric Digital sets. Prices for the new Digital range start at around £88 for the Digital Driver set, featuring two superb BMW Mini's, right up to the flagship Digital ProGT set which comes with 4 ready to race Digital cars and a large circuit of track for around £300.

Got an existing circuit?

Then converting to digital is easy. With the new C7040 Digital Conversion kit, you get everything you need to switch to digital. The conversion kit contains:

  • 1 x Powerbase
  • 2 x Digital Hand Controllers
  • 1 x Straight Lane Change Track
  • 1 x Half Straight
  • 1 x Standard Straight
  • 1 x Digital Transformer

All you need to do is add the track sections to your layout and switch the controllers, transformer and powerbase over to the digital ones and you're ready to race. Providing you've got cars with Digital chips fitted of course.
